The COAR Notify Protocol is a set of profiles, constraints and conventions around the use of W3C Linked Data Notifications (LDN) to integrate repository systems with relevant services in a distributed, resilient and web-native architecture.
The COAR Notify Initiative is developing and accelerating community adoption of a standard, interoperable, and decentralised approach to link research outputs hosted in the distributed network of repositories with resources in other repositories or with external services, such as overlay-journals and open peer review services.
There are currently a growing number of implementations of our major use cases, but the COAR Notify protocol can be used for numerous other purposes and contexts, and we would like to explore those possibilities. To that end, we are launching an Open Call for Proposals for Innovative Uses of the COAR Notify Protocol.
The funding for this Call is supported by a grant awarded to COAR by Arcadia, for the COAR Notify Project.
Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of this Call is to identify potential new use cases for the COAR Notify protocol, through the prototyping of innovative implementations of the protocol for linking, interacting or integrating repository resources with other services or resources.
The expected outcomes are prototype/proof-of-concept implementations connecting at least two systems/services using the COAR Notify protocol.
Grant Amount
The grants will be up to 10.000 €
Timeline
The call will be open from November 18, 2025 and close at the end of day on January 18, 2026.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome of the evaluation and selection process within two weeks after the close of the call.
Scope and eligibility
