Each year, COAR organizes a General Assembly and hosts an annual conference in a different location.
The General Assembly is the business meeting of COAR and the Annual Conference is usually a mixture of workshops, strategic discussions, and updates on COAR activities.

COAR Annual Conference 2025: Trends in Policy, Discovery, and Innovation – May 12-14, 2025
The 2025 COAR Annual Conference will take place in Tokyo, Japan on May 12-14, 2025. The conference is being jointly organized by COAR, JPCOAR and the National Institute of Informatics and will bring together international and Japanese participants to share experiences, identify priority activities across our communities, and contribute to the development of a shared vision for the future of repositories. COAR Annual Conference 2024 – June 6-7, 2024
The 2024 Conference will take place in Göthenburg, Sweden on June 6-7, 2024. The theme of the meeting will be Anticipating the Repository of the Future. The report of the meeting is available here
COAR General Assembly 2024 – May 21, 2024
The next COAR General Assembly will take place online on May 21, 2024 at 9-10:30h Eastern Time / 15-16:30h Central European Time / 22-23:30 Japan Time. Members and partners will receive the agenda, voting instructions and registration by email before April 21, 2024.
